Dark Eldar Wave 2: Looks Good, Battleforce

The Talos/Cronos are a combined kit, the Talos looks awesome. They do have a certain Cryx-like feel.

The Venom looks cool, very shooty.

The Scourge are really dynamic, and I'm loving their wings.

The Battleforce is $95, roughly saving $25 and includes:

10 Warriors
10 Wyches
3 Reaver Jetbikes
1 Raider

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

That is particularly awesome. I've always loved the Talos, and that is a much better model.

I'm not a huge fan of how this army looks on paper, but I love the models. The great news is that that Battleforce is actually useful. It comes with a crapton of stuff for cheap.

Mike those models are really cool, it is hard to resist. Luckily I have an unnatural disdain for all things Elf ;)

That's because they always seem to come out ahead of the orks.

The Venom looks...okay. It isn't particularly striking; it fits the visual style of the army, certainly, but it lacks the OOMPH some of the vehicles have.

Scourge look like they will break off their bases in like 5 minutes.

I really like the look of the models. Not sure if the legs are too long on the scourges, but cool wings.

The venom looks like a Viper reject. It keeps the Eldar Aesthetic, but it is still a bit of a knock off. The Scourges are more or less nice Swooping Hawk resculpts.

I am really intrigues by that battle box. That is the perfect box, 2 troops, a transport, and a Fast attack. And useful stuff. You'd need 2 of those, a Ravager, an HQ, maybe a box or 2 of Hellions, and a Talos. Sorta ridiculous.

I think that is why I like the scourges. They should look like Eldar since they are in fact Eldar. Ive never felt like the dark eldar really held on to the concept that they are in fact eldar.

Dont get me wrong. I love me plastic kits. It leeds to some fun orkifying. The talos however, is way to much of a departure of what it used to look like. One might still be able to have some fun with the new kit but until I see one built and see the sprues I just dont know.
