Question on new assassins

Postby Grandmaster marc » Mon Aug 25, 2014 1:31 pm

My question today is about the Vindicare Assassin, if I use the turbo penetrator round making the round strength 10, does that stack with the already 4 str from it being a sniper weapon? Thanks.

My assumption is the turbo penatrator would replace the standard S of the weapon.

It is only S 10, as a profile line cannot go above a stat of 10. The next step up from 10 would be D

Strength D sniper weapon would be way op. Especially since that damn assassin can actually hold its own against my highly skilled and badass Archon.

Strength D on a single shot would kill precisely one model a turn, which is what he's doing now anyway. Turbo penetrator round would make his rifle S10 AP2, and he naturally ignores cover; in most instances he's going to cause instant death at that strength, and probably pen a vehicle. S:D would just mean on a roll of 1 he does jack squat which...is the same as if he rolled a 1 on his to-wound roll anyway.

S10 is only against vehicles, against a normal model he just does D3 wounds.

Stupid question, but do those d3 wounds carry over to the squad or just the one model shot?

Wounds always allocate to the squad once the model dies, just like any normal shooting. The only exceptions are if the rest of the squad is out of range or LOS

So the one shot can kill more than one model? OP.

It depends on the wording. If it says something like "Any model wounded by this attack suffers D3 wounds" then that does not bleed over to the unit. If it says each Hit causes D3 wounds that must be rolled for separately (like a Flame Weapon that does D3 hits to the unit on a when firing over watch).
