Not so much a guide but a conversion tool. Got some old GW paints that didn't have a match when they converted over a couple years ago? Well, Coat d'Arms has you covered. They used to be the company that made GWs paints, and all their stuff is the exact same. Some are under different names, but they're the exact same colors--they even have a tentacle pink!

Off The Wall might be able to order them for you, if you don't want to pay shipping.

I would like to add something to what Slim said. While these are the exact same colors as what GW used to sell, they are not the same paint that most of you have been using for the last... oh... 10 or so years.

Sometime in the early 2000's GW switched their paint companies, or opened their own. Not sure which. This company is the company that made their paints before that. The paint pots are the exact same. I would bet the quality is also the same, and that paint was MUCH better than the stuff Gw put out after.

Before this company, I think Vallejo did GW's paints.

This was really helpful. Going to be painting hopefully somewhat intricate Gaelic designs on my battlemechs.

Glad to hear it Eluvatar, I'm finding some of the base techniques really interesting. I'm slowly going from gluing sand on bases then paint it in white to trying out new stuff with some mix results.
