Wasn't he a tomb king? The model makes sense for who he is. And that's a lot of cool skulls and spirits around him.

The fluff behind him is that he was so powerful he actually united the vampire counts and tomb kings, when he was alive he actually fought the skaven with the counts

Lorewise yes he was originally a tomb prince being the first son of King Khetep but quickly rose to the ranks of High Priest. Then eventually betrayed everybody and became King of Nekahara for a while. Then all the others tomb princes and such rose up against him.

@Steve the creation of vampires was actually an accident. Neferata, the queen of Lahmia, stole Nagash's books to try and create a potion of immortality but messed it up and thats how vampires were create.

Edited:Found her name

Also Khemri hate Nagash. He didn't unit the Tomb Kings he tried to enslave them all and turn them to slaves during his reign of terror but all the other Tomb Kings of Nakahera had to band together to e bring him down and the cursed Black Pyramid.

Also the newer model actually isn't that ugly, at least IMO. It kind of strikes me as something related to Starcraft (kerrigan) or diablo (diablo lol ) a bit but overall it's a lot better than the older model.

I use to want to collect Vampire Counts back in the day. I wanted to field an entire necrarch vampire army with tons and tons of zombies to flood you with. Today I might not collect Vampires as I'm way to consumed with my orcs but the model looks like it will be a lot of fun to paint.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Nagash is hated by everybody now that I think of that because he is the most selfish villain in the Warhammer. Even dark elves, beastmen or chaos for example often leave a trail of death and destruction behind them they were still doing it to advance their race/goals/etc... Not Nagash, if it didn't benefit him at all then he wanted no part of it.

He crippled and left the entire Nekhara kingdom in ruined. The worst of it all though was that he nroke the covenant between the Nehekharan gods and their people which not only remove the divine powers of the Nehekharans but ensuring that after death they wouldn't be able to go to their gods and would have to stay in a nether dimension forever. Especially jarring if you remember that he used to be the High Priest of their religion.

Nagash just straight up did whatever he wanted and gave everybody a giant middle finger. He is hated by the tomb kings and skaven but as I recall too the vampire counts even don't like him. When Nagash asked the vampires for aid against the Empire they were to self absorbed and caught up with their own issues that they didn't come to Nagash's side thus he cursed all the vampires counts with vulnerabilities vs sigmar's prayers.
