This thread is for the End is Nigh Apoc megabattle. Info on the battle can be found here.

"Each player will make a 1,500 point list, with an additional 1,000 points to be spent on Apocalypse Formations and Superheavies." from the first post by Kinne

Can the limits swing either way?

The way this comes out, in essence, is that you have to take an apocalypse formation, a superheavy, or a combination of apoc formations and/or superheavies that equal or exceed 1,000 points. The other 1,500 points can be spent on whatever you want. . .including more apoc formations and superheavies. The idea here is to encourage (or, rather, force) players to actually take apocalypse formations, units and superheavies, instead of just brining 2,500 points without a force organization chart.

Will all lists be preapproved before hand? Either the day off or the Wednesday before? My head is spinning already with what to do.

Well, Wednesday's Focus on the 10th is to help people figure out what to bring to the Apoc battle, but lists won't be pre-approved. Checking over as many 2,500 point lists as will be present would take a loooooooong time. It's basically the honor system on this one, though I doubt anyone would intentionally cheat. Mistakes discovered through playing will be corrected by "That unit's not supposed to be there. . .just take them off the table." After all, this is just a for fun battle, so nothing's really on the line.

Basically, you have to spend 1,000 points on either superheavies or apocalypse formations. Apocalypse formations are fairly easy to put together, and tend to cost a LOT. There's actually a grey knight one.

In the name of simplicity, I'm just going to switch up the rules so that people have 2,500 points each. Apoc formations are encouraged!

It looks like they pulled most of the ones they used to have on the GW site. They're in the Apocalypse and Apocalypse: Reload books.
