oooooooooo! Very nice! Gods that is such a sweet model... i'm lovin the purple-y flesh. :D looks amazing, Slim. The base is so simplistic.... doesn't seem up to your usual caliber.... was that on purpose? so that it didn't outshine her?

That's just how the base came. It's solid pewter, part of the model, and very...un-detailed. Lumpy. Basic. This is Victor's model, mind you, so when he handed it to me it was already primed black so going back and mucking with the base would've been a bigger hassle than I felt like dealing with.

You hit the nail on the head, though; I left it simple primarily because I didn't want it to outshine her. Plus, it matches Victor's bases with the rest of his crew, and that was something I kept in consideration.

Very cool. I like the blending of the colors between the gaiman and the bases.

Randy's Ogre Kingdoms model. I had fun with this one, even if getting into every tiny detail was kind of a pain.

Slim...I'm going to be bluntly honest on this one. I don't like to be all 'Looks good great job' if I can critique things to be better, especially in accordance to ones skill.

I don't think that the blending looks good. The mask looks sloppy too, maybe it's the whole head because there are so many details and starkly different palette choices. I can certainly appreciate what you are trying to do at this scale.

It's funny, we all know how great you can paint. The evidence is in the model itself: the legs look awesome. Blend the layers on the flesh some more, and maybe try and make the head area less busy and I think it will look killer.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.
