I don't understand why people use the broken software. We saw some programs ruin events over two years ago. It's a known issue, and really easy to avoid.
In the past, I've seen events where the first place person plays the last place. Or several people are undefeated, and none of them ever play each other.

It's not like it's difficult software to put together, either. Almost every game system has their own pairing software that works on the same framework. Even the fan-made Blood Bowl software is dirt-simple and perfectly effective (and customizable, so frankly if I wanted software to run a Malifaux event I'd just use that...)
This just goes to show: No matter how stupid and useless a weapon may look to you, some guy in Asia with too much time on his hands has figured out how to use it to kill five ninjas.
